It’s funny, my neighbor hardly says anything to me. Sometimes I even  go out of my way to catch eye contact with her just to say hello  A lot of the time I just say hello, to no response. That’s when,  in my head,  I usually answer for her [Hey, I’m great how about you!] LOL.

Not too long ago, she was especially friendly and talkative...

Although confused,  I return the friendliness.

After a little small talk, she says “Hey can I see your basement? We are working on ours and I wanted to get some ideas” [Ohhh Nooow I get it!!]

Anyway, I let her in, I even let her carpenter in to  take a look.

Politely they say Thank You and leave.

The crazy thing is that she hasn’t said hello to me since. LOL

I really don’t mind. I actually continue to say hello when I get a chance and I answer for her too LOL. :o)

The point of the story is that, me, a mere human, can see right through her.

Could you imagine trying to pull one over on God!! That’s a hilarious thought, getting over on the creator of the universe. LOL!!

The thing is sometimes we ask for things, convinced that it is for one thing, only deceiving ourselves. Sometimes we don’t even realize how selfish we are. Sometimes our motives have motives.

Now, i’m sure God would have let you into his basement to take a look, he might have even had a peaceful smirk on his face [smile].

But when it comes to more serious issues, that just might be a little different.

Asking for our own pleasures, and our own needs whether we realize it or not, well it doesn’t really work like that, according to the bible that is:

James 4:3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

If this is something you might be struggling with, try getting honest.

Humbly asking for honesty is a good place to start.

Lord help me recognize my true motives.

HE will show you and when he does it can sometimes be funny, to me anyway.

I hope you guys understand me.

PS If by chance my neighbor reads this - Hello there!! I have absolutely no hard feelings :o)

That was a great (grate) post! Thank you for sharing that. It really spoke to my heart today. Sometimes we may be asking God to bless us financially and wondering why he has not done so yet. The reason is being that sometimes we are not ready for that blessing yet. We are ready to spend it on foolish pleasures. Meanwhile, we want to do good with that blessing but not showing that we actually will is keeping us from receiving it.
If this makes sense or not, I definitely get where you are coming from.

This is an old blog post but I felt compelled to leave a comment from a different perspective. Although you harbor no ill feelings, go easy on her. She may just struggle with social anxiety or be an introvert. It’s an issue I struggle with, although I love the Lord my God with all my heart. In the past it has caused me to question whether the Holy Spirit is actively working in me because I’m not always outgoing or seem very friendly like some seemingly perfect Christians. I have prayed for help with this issue many times because I want to be more outgoing for the sake of the Gospel yet still struggle, but I find comfort in 2 Corinthians 12:7-10. Social anxiety may be a thorn in my flesh, but His Grace is sufficient while I struggle with my brokenness and weaknesses.

On a side not really admire the clothing line, just bought my 1st shirt. Keep the dope designs coming. God Bless all.

Oh My that’s funny I had a girl at church do me the same way! At first I was the same way. Even when she didn’t speak back I would speak to me for her! Until she got ugly acting and even moved from where she was sitting one day, because I had sat in the row behind her! (I shower everyday!) Very clean and I always have people say they like my perfume! Or that I smell nice! But it got to where it was really beginning to hurt my feelings. I talked to one of the ladies at church and she was real sweet! She said! Well everyone can like who they want. But God says your suppose to Love everyone even Your enemies! So She has to Love Me, if she loves God! I LOVE HER!! Even though she is a mean GIRL!!
Hello Girl! How are you today? Great I’m so glad Your having a Good Day! Oh And Thanks for asking I’m Having A Great Day also!! Love Your Post Raymond!

Been making great strides in this department… God has shown me that prayer is not asking for our will to become a reality on this earth but for His predetermined one to come to pass, thanks for your honesty on this!
